Finding Joy in the Journey

never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be lovedToday is President Thomas S. Monson’s 85th birthday. In honor of his birthday, I am sharing an excerpt from one of my very favorite addresses by President Monson.

If you want to read the complete text of his address, it’s “Finding Joy in the Journey.”

In this address he talks about how many years it has been since he began serving as an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ. And while I was surfing around I found this great clip from the day he was called to be an apostle. For me, it was a lifetime ago. Really. What a beautiful testimony.

And for a life characterized by service, for I do not think of President Monson without one of his many stories of serving coming to mind, here is a brief timeline of his wise counsel regarding service.

What is your favorite President Monson memory?
