Happy New Year! It’s resolution time. Two of the most popular are getting organized and getting healthy.
I can’t do anything about your linen closet or your diet, but I think I can help with mealtime.
I love to cook—and even more than I love to cook, I love collecting recipes. Yes, I am that odd person who reads cookbooks for fun. I love finding and trying new recipes. I love it so much there are 1200 recipes files on my computer, along with a thick stack of recipes in my file cabinet that I need to input into the computer to be useful.
As much as I love recipes and cooking, dinnertime is still a pain. I make a menu, but it’s often the same boring meals because hunting through that stack of recipes is a pain.
Cook’n is the most awesome recipe software I have seen. This great program comes pre-loaded with dozens of delicious recipes, you can enter your own recipes AND (wait for it—this is REALLY cool) you can capture and automatically download recipes you find on the internet. For a recipe hound like me, this feature alone—which I have never found before—is more than worth the price of the software. I tested this nifty feature on several of my favorite recipe sites, including Taste of Home and it worked like a charm.
For you serious tech types, you can sync the recipes with your smart phone or iPad. You can print a family cookbook, automatically recalculate servings, create a weekly or monthly menu complete with shopping list, and analyze the nutritional value of your meals—even ones you input yourself. It is available in both Windows and Mac versions.
In addition, there are many additional cookbooks available for purchase and download from the Cook’n website. I already have a few on my wish list. You can mark your favorites, create your own recipe categories, search by ingredients, by category, by cookbook or search the whole internet.
I have been playing with this for almost a week now and I have just barely scratched the surface of how much easier this program is going to make my life. And now that it’s made MY life easier, Cook’n and I are ready to make your life easier as well.

I have hundreds of recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation as well as secret family recipes I want to organize on line to be able to share with my daughter who is 17. Being LDS I also have recipes from Church members that I don’t want to lose from generations of their families.
I’m a foodie too…would love to win this!
Wow! How did you know my goal was to get my recipes organized? And how daunting I am finding the project! LOL!
My old copy of Cook’n died with my old PC and I haven’t been able to afford a new copy of it, so winning one would be awesome. Thanks for the opportunity!
